The Trial of the Chicago 7

    I haven't seen a movie in a month.

That's not really a sentence I'd ever think that I would utter, but here we are! I add this because typically I am watching at least 20 movies a month (with it getting up to 60 in some cases), and in some ways this may have harmfully saturated some great films when I was burnt on watching things. I say this as important context for this film, whenever I return to a…

Writing and making a video on a film is exhausting, especially when it's one that has a special place in your heart. Which is why it was pretty dumb of me to say "Yeah I'll make a Studio Ghibli video every year" after taking months to talk about Princess Mononoke. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand an arthouse film like Minions (2015). The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of minion-ese most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. Review up here!

Im gonna be honest I must have seen a different film than everyone else because this just was not doing it for on the whole. I love A24, but this one screams of “haha isn’t it great to be weird”. Loved the comedy in a lot of parts, but it was very inconsistent. Really want to love it but it has virtually no progression and no cohesion.
Main stream audiences will be fun to see where they side.
