    On Deadly Ground

I don’t even know where to start with this ridiculous movie, but I’ll start by quoting my buddy Matt when he described this movie to me as “Seagal’s magnum opus. A total egomaniac vanity project.”

Even knowing that, I still was not prepared for how much Seagal absolutely worships himself for an hour and a half. Warner Bros. gave Seagal 50 million dollars to direct and star in this big budget action/ecological message movie and to Seagal’s credit, every damn dollar is…

    The Addiction

“It makes no difference what I do, whether I draw blood or not. It’s the violence of my will against theirs.”

So, I couldn’t let 2020 end without logging my favorite discovery of the year. How the hell is this the only feature film Hype Williams has gotten to direct in his 30 year career? This was incredible!

A demon infests a seance via Zoom call and chaos ensues. Host is just a super fun scare fest that is totally of the moment we live in. Definitely lived up to the hype I’d been seeing. At 56 minutes, it’s the perfect length for the story they’re telling and has no fat on it.

Also, the last scare got me so good I spilled a glass of water all over myself, haha.

    The Devils

I’m not even sure if anyone has noticed, but I haven’t been writing reviews lately because I’ve been dealing with a terrible case of writer’s block and even coming up with little blurbs for Letterboxd reviews has been a massive challenge, but I watched The Devils for the first time today on Shudder and all I can say is......
