After seeing this movie one thing I have realised is that I gotta keep my OCD under control!
There is no better combination of Director-Editor than Martin Scorsese and Thelma Schoonmaker in the history of film! The use of double exposure and fluidity of atleast 70% of the scenes in the film is pure genius 🤌
PS. I strongly feel this is the film which really put Leo at the top for his acting chops back in 2004 🙌
Man, in the strictest storytelling sense this is a superior movie to the first one and it’s easy to understand why:
1st Part has more memorable scenes & dialogues.
2nd Part is too real to the core.
1st Part has one really great sequence of editing.
2nd Part is beautifully edited throughout.
1st Part has Marlon Brando & Al Pacino.
2nd Part has Robert DeNiro & Al Pacino (PRIME).
And I can go on and on…
But in the end it boils down to the facts that 2nd part had a greater budget, and Francis had more control!
Thereby, Part 1 - 95/100 and Part 2 - 98/100.
