Greta is really a smart filmmaker. She wanted this film to be more like an insightful one rather than something rebellious. She clearly doesn't want a movie that won't connect with the audience, and also she very well knows how to connect with them. Be it showing eccentricities or vulnerabilities, she seems to know the nuances, and that's what's holding the film together.
