Harry Potter Marathon: Log #1
It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.
Literally my childhood! How can I not give this 5 stars?? Going to be rewatching and ranking all the Harry Potter movies, which is like choosing a favorite child because I love all these movies equally for different reasons. Favorite parts were the Christmas scenes, probably because Chris Columbus (who did Home Alone) directed this. I will say that this one feels the most disconnected from the grand story of Harry Potter. Horcruxes are not introduced yet, but instead there is a magic stone, a dream mirror, a unicorn, and a three-headed dog.. all of which are never really brought back ever again. Feels like J.K. playing around with a lot of already-established wizard lore and just rolling with it.. or should I say “Rowling” with it. Still, this was truly a perfect introduction to Hogwarts, the golden trio, and the Wizarding World - a place that still means a whole lot to a great lot of people, myself included.
