Check out my shit
I remember reading in 2018 the reason why Alfonso Cuaron used black and white film was for Roma to create a feeling of photographic nostalgia and I feel that Bogdanovich implements the same thing here. A longing for a past time might feel a little weird for someone who never lived through it but when viewed through the lens of Bogdanovich it feels so familiar I love films about nothing and I think this is my favorite film about nothing…
In my opinion this is perfect filmmaking. To me the two most important parts of filmmaking is sound and motion. Rashomon's perfectly combines sound and movement to create a perfect film atmosphere. The texture and ambience also provide a great use of a world that is lived in and everchanging much like the film's themes.
