    While far from being top-tier Ozu, this is still very powerful. True to his form, this is a spare, sentimental, but never overwrought family piece, with Chishu Ryu playing a middle-age widower. This was originally going to be a 7, but damn that ending hit me hard.

    Despite the obvious Tranatino influences, this is actually pretty good, with an ensemble of uniformly great performances. Erivo is the biggest standout to me.
