• Realization

Part 5 of my look back.

This one is my least favorite. This one I very begrudgingly returned to. I had this big concept behind it, all these metaphors and crap. But in the end I had less than a day to do it and it came out as you'd expect. None of it comes across on screen, it just looks like nonsense. The dialogue at the beginning is cringeworthy and unrealistic. The whole thing just makes me want to…

    A Day in the Life

Part 4 of my look back.

This was a redo of a project I was assigned for Spanish class a few months earlier. The first time I took a horror-ish approach. This one I went more for what it was like to be in this online schooling. I think certain parts capture that kind of well. The bordom and repetitiveness, but a lot of it really falls apart. A lot of it is just there to fill time. I also think the black and white photography could've been a lot better.

  • Deadline

Part 3 of my look back.

With this one I think the middle portion is the only piece that's anything. The beginning is annoyingly edited and the end is choppy. The final part might be a little funny, I don't know. I thought it was kind of funny at the time, but now I'm not so sure. A lot of this one fell to time constraints because I had to balance this with another project.

Part 2 of my look back.

Out of all of five of the shorts made here this one is my favorite I think. I think this one came out okay. I think the last shot (which we got pretty much all with luck) is kind of powerful. The message is a little messy, but I think the images are alright, a bit shakey but oh well.

I decided to look back at the projects I made for my film class earlier this year and late last year. Haven't looked at them since completion.

This one I had a lot of problems with. The project guidelines were pretty strict and definitely went against what I wanted to do. I always planned to do a re-edit, but I could never find the energy to do it. The whole middle is way too drawn out as well. I would just cut out the whole thing. I really only think the beginning is ok.

    Out of Thin Air

Really interesting case, but man was this doc boring.

  • Mom and Dad

    Mom and Dad

This film sucks, but it has some of my all-time favorite Cage moments so it kind of evens out.

  • Old

Ok, so, this review is going to be a little unfair. But I never claimed to be fair so, whatever.

I saw the last fifty-ish minutes of the film. (Including credits.) I had gotten tickets to a 2:10 showing of this film at the Regal on 42nd. In this particular Regal theatre they have six auditoriums on the second floor but this story only involves auditoriums 12 and 13. They are placed directly next to each other as their numbers…

  • Capernaum

I found this to be really dull. It felt like sadness for the sake of it. It didn't feel like there was much of a point to any of the things shown aside from maybe "poor people shouldn't have kids" which is a weird stance to take. Maybe that's just me, but that's what I took away from it. The child acting is good, but aside from that this is really just a dull mess.

Ha ha look I watched this on 626 day. Which also happens to be my birthday. I am Stitch. It also happens to be Paul Thomas Anderson's birthday. I am Paul Thomas Anderson... and Stitch.

This is exactly my kind of shit.

The Death & Life of John F. Donovan

Elements of this really work but as a whole this falls apart.
