It's Panic Room but a hell of a lot grosser. I can't say it all works looking back on it, but being in the moment, the film balances disgust with tension pretty damn well. Can we please also take some time to recognize what a great year this has been for horror? Even films that I couldn't get into still offered heaps of new ways to approach old ideas, and seems to be pushing towards a new golden age, where more and more indie directors can go into the genre head first.
