All Quiet on the Western Front

All Quiet on the Western Front ★★★★★

an unbelievably stunning film showcasing the immaturity of grown men in positions of power and how young boys were in turn ripped from their childhoods because of them. it touches on the glorification of battle and then on the devastating pointlessness of war as we witness the men lose anything and everything close to them, eventually losing their humanity altogether. all quiet on the western front immerses the viewers directly into the trenches of world war i with its incredible cinematography, giving them a small glimpse of the grim world soldiers were forced to reside in. felix kammerer also delivers an absolutely haunting and thought-provoking performance, making this a truly unforgettable one-of-a-kind film.
