Aaron King’s review published on Letterboxd:
This becomes more of a Creed film than a Rocky one, and it doesn’t know what to do with itself. There is so much potential for sons and fathers themes but instead it barely taps on it. Creed bringing his daughter to the gym is a great example of a quiet moment where it hits on that theme even if no words are said. The end where Rocky says it is your time is the perfect place for Rocky to leave and be out of the series but instead we get a weird closing scene of him and his son that is closure for him. The light metaphor comes on little too strong with Rocky but we get it. I think that of it was any other film none Rocky and Creed, I wouldn’t like it that much. Still I have faith that if they do decide to make another film, it can get back to where Creed was. Maybe bring back Coogler.
