Do you remember the day you figured out how to make the perfect PB&J? And from then on you knew exactly how much peanut butter to spread and your favorite brand of jam? You finally realized that crunchy was better than creamy and how to spread all the way to the crust. Sure, it was just a PB&J but it was yours and you now knew you would make it the same way for the rest of your life.

Disney makes great PB&J's y'all and this is a stellar sandwich.

Why does this feel like a Night at the Museum sequel? And why is this Night at the Museum sequel two and a half hours long? And if this Night at the Museum sequel really is set in 1984, why does it never once mention the Detroit Tigers and the amazing double play combination of Alan Trammel and Lou Whitaker?

Finally got around to this and it was... exactly what I assumed. There is enough of a commentary on aging and sexuality and how religious repression creates trauma here that I wasn't left unengaged, but the actual story itself was rather tired and uninteresting. And even though some of the visual acumen here was impressive, including maybe my favorite opening shot of the year, the meta-commentary was so on the nose that I found myself rolling my eyes more than once.

A mixed gory bag, but not without its merits.

This movie is a non-stop ride with some truly inventive visuals and action moments. It gets a little quick-cut punchy, punchy at times, but Gosling, de Armas, and Evans are absolutely electric together.

Gosling is the new Cary Grant and I will not hear otherwise.

I should stop being surprised at how good Marvel is at playing with their toys.

Fan service can be a lot of fun when it isn't at the expense of serving characters or story.

It can be a downright blast when it manages to ENHANCE character and story.

This movie is a downright blast.

Now that's how you Star War.

    Complex but coherent.

    Epic but personal.

Drop dead sensual storytelling visually and aurally.

I am mad this was only part 1.

I am thrilled this was only part 1.
