Millennium Actress

Oh wow the pacing on this absolutely fucks. I love how it moves at a frantic pace because Chiyoko is constantly moving at a frantic pace across her movie career and life to find her love but slows down at pivotal moments where she realizes she just missed him. It's rhythm almost like breathing or rather a beating heart, but more importantly the kind of beating your heart does when it involves another person. The movies heart is constantly racing like a sped up heart beat but then the screen slows down and everything focuses in on Chiyoko as her heart slows down to accept that fact that this won't be when they will finally meet again.

Big fan of movies that less so dictate how you should feel and more so capture how you feel about a particular something. It's a movie so confident in its character that you start recall the first time you a performers specific character tick and knew then and there that you were tied to them.

Finally more historical epics should be 90 minutes long.
