Talk To Me feels like A24 qualitywise but we're back to basics here with a genuinely scary classic ghost storyβand a good one too, it's been a while. Very straight to the point but still refreshing and original. It looks so good, some unexpected twists and turns, impressive camerawork, great practical effects, the gore is effective and I was genuinely scared in the theater. THAT bloody brutal moment had me squirming in my seat. The mystery for the hand wasβ¦

Barbie 2023
So. Much. Fun!
Colorful, cheery, emotional, serious, sad and really the perfect balance between all of these, I never felt like it was too much of either. Barbie adresses powerful themes on identity, gender dynamics, steriotypes, job functions, self-worth, self-confidence, patriarchy, searching for a purpose, toxic masculinity... I never expected it to be that layered and deep. It's a satire and also very self-aware in moments, i'm someone that detests musicals but I loved every musical scene and dance number.β¦

Most hateable protagonist of all time? So freakin annoying and loud and he can't stop swearing! He does get more tolerable as the movie progresses though. This one has the biggest budget of the entire franchise (20 million) but the least games/traps. Shame! The ones we had were good but not nearly enough of them and none were survivable. Confess or die!
New Saw movie, new detective character. New Saw movie, new bad actor group ready to die. Everyone outside of that group were decent actors though so it's really a shock in quality when the movie goes from one group to the oher. Billy the puppet looks like a Toys R' Us toy now, not creepy in the slightest but totally laughable. Jigsaw's workshop is terrifying. Excellent gore and good looking wounds. Not the best traps in theβ¦

A very simple premise of the "use your wits to survive" alien invasion thriller but also very refreshing for the genre. Filled with horror clichΓ©s and it's nothing we haven't seen before but great execution, that's how you do it!
