Cary Grant is so unbelievably charming. Such a smart move casting him in a 'is-he-or-isn't-he-a-murderer?' role. Majorly suspenseful, I couldn't make up my mind the whole way through.
Joan Fontaine also shines brightly! This is the first I've seen of her, and I'm now urgently tracking down a copy of Rebecca to see more.
