    Breakfast at Tiffany's

One of the best films I have ever seen, ending is beyond touching. My experience of it biased by who I watched it with

  • Red Sparrow

    Red Sparrow

Immiserating from start to finish on many levels. Really bad

  • Call Me by Your Name

    Call Me by Your Name

Occurred to my girlfriend and I separately while watching this that if the younger character was female, this film would have obliterated the careers of everyone involved in its production. Besides that, in the words of Reynolds Woodcock, it just isn’t very good, is it? Location aside, there isn’t much to be impressed with. Regardless of what the Academy or anyone else says, Chalamet’s performance is unremarkable, same applies for Hammer. Nothing much actually happens and when it does, it is invariably vandalised by a fake-deep line like ‘I remember everything’ just before the next cut. Really, really bad

  • Midsommar

Major disappointment. Watched the director’s cut with my girlfriend (3 fucking hours). Florence Pugh’s performance just isn’t compelling, the plot is threadbare, it isn’t remotely scary and the ritual sex scene was just depressing and bleak. Nah

  • The Wolf of Wall Street

    The Wolf of Wall Street

This feels so much shorter than 3 hours. Best Leo and Jonah performances

  • Hannibal

It is so insane to me that the TV series took 10 hours to tell the same story as this film but that this feels far more protracted and drawn out. Really dull fare

  • Knives Out

    Knives Out

The relationship between Marta and Harlan is so sweet. RIP, you deserved better sweet prince

  • Children of Men

    Children of Men

I have seen this quite a few times, it is as brilliant as ever. I hadn’t realised before quite how Black Mirror-esque the first half of it is. Modern classic

  • GoodFellas

    She loved Goodfellas. A keeper

  • Come and See

    Come and See

Thank God, the proper poster is back

  • American Psycho

    American Psycho

This gets better with every viewing. Genuinely a flawless distillation of the book. Christian Bale’s performance is my fav from any actor of all time, so so good
