AdaH’s review published on Letterboxd:
Stability and instability commingle, providing Therese and the titular Carol, whose lifestyles respectively show each trait, with the gift of perfection. Or, at least, their ideas of perfection. Each woman then learns personal truths pertaining to the true state of perfection, and their ideal existence.
That's all I'd like to (and can) say, about Carol, a film filled with exploratory shots, nuanced performances and a thematic arc that broke my damn heart.
