my brain is ethan hawke and this movie is barbed wire lol. had to sit with this one for a while before rating it. v disturbing but ... not necessarily in a bad way. it’s definitely deserving of the original screenplay nom, and i’m personally offended mr hawke was not also nominated (fuck the academy but wbk). such a powerful performance in an intensely uncomfortable film. i found myself staring at the floor instead of the screen during quite a few of the conversations because i was just taking in everything being said. i think this one’s gonna haunt me for a lil bit 😔🤘🏼
