Patrick’s review published on Letterboxd:
Best writing I’ve seen this year, and some of the best acting too, the films structure makes it unique from other dramadies, it has some amazing camerawork and editing, and the acting is obviously a standout, it blends Comedy and Drama very well, and the pace is quick while never feeling rushed, the way things move along as the movie goes on feels extremely natural and Adam Driver delivers an Oscar worthy performance, I have no problem calling this his best performance. Scarlett Johansson was amazing, and I want to see her get more roles like this, it’s endlessly funny and heartbreaking, the secondary characters are really fun to watch, specifically Ray Liotta, Who gives the funniest performance of the entire film, and the way the lawyers mirror the main characters thoughts was great, the dialogue felt natural and it adds all of the personality to it and it pretty much is the heart of why the movie is great. It’s a 9/10 closer to a 10 than an 8 for me.
Glad I was able to see it in the theatre
