Going in, all I had heard about the plot was that DDL was playing a dressmaker who was so good he could sew secrets into clothes, and I thought that meant it was going to be a mystery or whodunnit, with some people trying to track down a bunch of dresses he’d made so they could solve a murder or find his buried gold or something. I guess I imagined the stitching would be in cursive? Like, he’d be literally writing the secrets with thread? Maybe a Citizen Kane thing where every new dress leads to a flashback?

It’s not that. Still very good, though!
