    Everything Everywhere All at Once

    A lot more simple than I'd anticipated, and also not. It's just great when movies make you feel something, really make you feel something. I couldn't care less about what didn't work because what did was wonderful. There's so much to care about, from the dust accumulating under your stove to efforts to colonize Mars and everything in-between like your day job and air pollution in China, but what really matters are the things that in the grand, cosmic scheme…

    This wrecked me. I'm a huge mess. It's unfair, I wasn't prepared. I thought it was going to be another (fantastic) body horror type thriller from Tsukamoto and it's actually one of the most beautiful movies about human suffering ever made. Whole thing is this stupidly perfect, uncharacteristically restrained, tonal poem about loss, physical and mental trauma caused through loss, and the way our memories alter themselves through those experiences so we don't go crazy.
