  • Life Itself

    Life Itself

If the tv dinner I ate watching this movie was actually the movie itself. This film is so irony poisoned and so "clever" you will want to vomit multiple times throughout. There is a 35 or so minute stretch near the end of the film (but not the actual ending itself) that hits the exact right pacing. Other than that, garbage to an unprecedented degree for such a great ensemble cast. If this movie is allowed to exist, why isn't mine about the UFO-based 2nd Coming of Christ? It would be at least this good.

  • The Haunting of Sharon Tate

    The Haunting of Sharon Tate

Among this year's worst reckless garbage films. Insulting and exploitative in the worst possible way. Shame on Hilary Duff for taking this role. How desperate was she?

  • Film in Which There Appear Edge Lettering, Sprocket Holes, Dirt Particles, Etc.
  • Prescience

    Prescience

Why don't you take your honey roasted peanuts and shove them up your honey roasted flight attendant ass!

Hallmark production-quality and bad acting from the lead. Prescience was straining to go somewhere and was always almost there until its galaxy brain ending tanks the whole thing. Manning was good and worth keeping an eye out for, but otherwise this is a no from me.

  • After

    After

I forgot what these kind of movies are like. Slowmo takes behind vapid pop songs. Limp pacing, just flaccid enough to not quite work. Gauzy filters over the outdoors scenes and half-jokes that definitely had been full jokes before an editor removed them but then the screenwriter said no I liked that and then they compromised by keeping it making it ironically dry. Overproduced acting and sets.

Worse though is that this movie really, honestly means nothing. I get that…

  • Fear and Desire

    Fear and Desire

So painful I had to stop at 30 minutes couldn't make myself endure it

  • Amber Alert

    Amber Alert

Potentially the most annoying movie I have ever seen. Around 17 minutes in I muted the audio and only unmuted it when a new visual would happen. This made Amber Alert much better.

    Do not watch.

  • Skin

    Skin

“No racist would drive a Toyota” -my friend

Just as bad the second time.

  • Unplanned

    Unplanned

Unplanned fails on a number of levels. Cinematically it is garbage. Acting is okay. The script is a nightmare. The argument amounts to "abortion is gross, visually" combined with "people at the Fence are nicer than Planned Parenthood execs." That was not a persuasive argument. The movie's sheer non-realism also undercut its effectiveness as an emotional stirring rod. Yeah viewing these horrible images is terrible, but when the film so horribly produces them and when the characters are so obviously…

  • Skin

    Skin

I left the theatre seething with hatred for Skin. What a waste of my and everyone else’s time. American History X, but worse... incomparibly worse. What was the goal here? To make ‘a statement’ about racism? Wow!!!

‘Shock Porn’ at its lowest doesn’t come near this abomination of a ‘film.’ I hated hated hated hated HATED Skin and cannot fathom how it beat any other, any, literally any, other live action short film for the Oscar nomination.

One star for the camera angle when the black and white children made eye contact as the skinheads drove out of the parking lot.
