Yves W’s review published on Letterboxd:
Hits you right in the cry muscles. Is this movie perfect? Nope. But it’s pretty damn close to it. Theatrical conclusions to television series rarely work because they have to play to a general audience and a audience of fans, and that’s a delicate balancing act. Violet Evergarden teeters on the former (there's approximately 30 minutes of setup here), but once it hits its stride, it's pretty damn close to perfect.
If this is the last movie I will be able to see in the theater before the pandemic ends, I wouldn’t even be mad. It’s that good. If you don’t cry during that scene, you’re not human.

Side note 2: why isn’t there a pinkie promise emoji?!
