Those monkeys weren't having sex, they were DEFINITELY killing each other. Wholly fucking shit is this film ever long. It's a good thing I was tripping balls the whole time and auditory hallucinating Jefferson Airplane, otherwise I probably would have lost interest when those monkeys didn't start fucking each other. Why wouldn't the monkeys fuck each other? Somebody MUST have said something about that in the screen tests.
