    L'Eclisse

    One main gripe i had with La Notte is that although Antonioni creates beautiful imagery within each frame and the individual shots - are not only marvelous to look at - create the sense of isolation and disillusion coming from that life of sophistication..but there never seemed to be an actual rhythm between the shots. And in my opinion it minimized the impact of La Notte's ending and overall theme.

    Not that this problem isn't there in L'Eclisse..it's still there…

    Stunning cinematography, acting & atmosphere all around. Feels a tad bit all over the place and hazey thematically tho & the characters didn't get fleshed out enough (viewed the theatrical cut)

    *those horror directors and their sophomoroe films tho, the genre is def in good hands*

    Damn, that was great !

    The idea of a slasher villain that hunts down his victims in their dreams opened up a lot of possibilities and it delivered ! The film probably one of the few films I've seen so far that blends surrealism with reality/horrific imagery (the other two are Eyes Wide Shut & Eraserhead) and Wes Craven handles that - and builds suspense - wonderfully with memorable imagery that also enhances some…
