I love the approach to such a tabu theme. Laurence anyways is an honest and desserved potrayal to marginalized people, not just transsexual people. Dolan gives us once again his magic touch with some amazing scenes where he litteraly takes us to another dimension.
This movie is a masterpiece, it stands out in all the aspects of cinema, genious dialogue that comes to life with two outstanding performances by Suzanne and Melvil mixed with an extravagant set design that melts perfectly with the photography of Belanger and to give the perfect seasoning to this delicacy Dolan put’s on a score that gives this movie the magic touch many modern films lack. I could go on for paragraphs at what makes this movie great and it personnaly opened my eyes to the cinema to which inspirations I should hold on to tightly.
