    The Hunt for Red October

As I watch more Tom Clancy inspired films, I have come to the conclusion that they might not be my thing.
Casting Sean Connery as a Russain was the film’s first mistake.
Alec Baldwin is #NotMyJackRyan! I only acknowledge the great Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan. Baldwin was good, but Ford is the Tom Clancy king!
I enjoyed how it dodged having Sean Connery and the rest of the Russain crew speak Russain. That push-in and push-out shot switching languages was smooth and clever!
The suspense was great and it was exciting, but I just didn’t love it!

I genuinely can’t find a flaw large enough to mention! So full of heart and youth, you really feel like a kid again watching this! Absolutely love it.

With a second viewing, I can safely say this has rapidly climbed my list as the #1 Marvel film! While it is filled with fan service, most of that service serves the narrative. Every character has an important character arc that is satisfying and in some cases, a logical conclusion for their story in the MCU. Endgame builds on the lore of Thanos, constructing a villain that joins the conversation with Joker, Darth Vader and the like, as one of…
