The Night House

The Night House ★★★★

Rebecca Hall rocks and The Night House rocks.

There were two moments that genuinely scared and freaked me out, and that's more than enough to make me like a horror movie at this point! The conceit of the movie is clever and used for some awesome visual moments. The real standout is Rebecca Hall, though, this is entirely her show, and she chews every single line she's given. We need Hall to get more roles she can own, and just get her in some better movies. Looking at her recent work, it seems like she's had a fair bit more misses than hits. A great cast all together. Stacy Martin and Sarah Goldberg I haven't seen much from, but I'm excited to see where they go. And it's always great to have Vondie Curtis-Hall in a movie, especially when he's given a larger role like this. I've been meaning to see The Ritual by David Buckner, and now I'll make sure to get to it this fall.
