Jacob’s review published on Letterboxd:
Had a great time. I loved the b-movie/Twilight Zone mashup and home invasion thrillers always freak me out.
I want to write more on this but for now there's something really interesting (and unsurprising) in the heavily biblical thread (4400, "Abraham", long suffering) and how that dovetails into the unique exploration of race and trauma in the USA. I think, specifically, I mean a way in which Christianity has been weaponised for repression and under the gaze of an Old Testament God.
Central family cast and especially Lupita Nyong'o are all stellar, as is Michael Abels's score.
