  This movie builds.
  It built anticipation for me after seeing and hearing only good reviews.
  It builds upon itself as it moves along in the story. When it first started I thought it might be one of those movies I get hyped for and then disappointed because I don't feel the same excitement those before me felt. Not the case at all once it starts rolling.
  And finally it continues to built in my mind in the hours since I watched it.

  Red Rocket made me realize that 2021 is like a sequel to 2017, with some of my favorite directors making some of my favorite films of each year.

  Lowery: A Ghost Story -> The Green Knight
  Ducournau: Raw -> Titane
  Villeneuve: Blade Runner 2049 -> Dune
