Big Trouble in Little China

Big Trouble in Little China ★★★½

"Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it." - Jack Burton

After watching Escape from New York yesterday and seeing as it's transfer deadline day and Manchester United won't be signing anyone else I wanted to watch another Russell/Carpenter movie today, 1986's Big Trouble in Little China.

The plot like this movie is pretty over the top but I like it, An All-American trucker Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in Chinatown.

Overall this is a pretty fun movie to watch and I'd even go as far as saying I liked it more than Escape from New York, both these movies are very different Escape from New York is very dark and set in a dystopian future whereas Big Trouble in Little China is more of a light fun adventure whilst having darker elements, I'd recommend watching these two movies back to back if you're interested in Kurt Russell or John Carpenter.
