    Hollow Triumph

By the end of the film, the title makes perfect sense. Hollow triumph isn’t anything particularly special but it’s a very interesting film that manages to strike hard where it counts. There’s an interesting montage when Muller is thinking of all those that warned him about his past catching up to him! Very good ending that “puts the cherry on top”, so to speak.

    Theatrical Version (229 minutes)
Glad I’ve finally been able to watch this film on a big screen! To my knowledge, it is still up for debate as to the nature of the film—is it reality or not? Note: I’m using dreams and non-reality events interchangeably in this write up.

Upon further examination, I would like to say that I believe that the events that start and close the film, and anything directly taking place in that time, are Noodles’ present.…

There were two cool Dutch angle shots of the realtor trying to hunt down Carl Black with the chainsaw. (In the last 21st minute)

You didn’t let me finish, I was going to tell you “turn right here, left.”.
I really liked the musical number between Nicky and Tacy. The score from the start and end credits is a great sounding one that really captures the era. The beautiful vistas, which may have been a mixture of both real locations and studio sets, or just real locations, paint a real picture for viewer. The wide shots of the convertible hauling the trailer along these…

Buffy seems like a combination of an 80s horror film + a 90s teen show like Beverly Hills 90210.

Q&A with Edgar Wright + Bryan Lee O’Malley + Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ellen Wong , moderated by The Daniels.
A fun movie that stays to true to its graphic novel origins. It’s full of likable and unlikable characters so there’s a balance there. The video game structure of there being levels to beat and even repeat was well executed. The film touches on themes of love, perseverance, self-reflection to move past mistakes, and growing up.
