Hollow Triumph 1948
By the end of the film, the title makes perfect sense. Hollow triumph isn’t anything particularly special but it’s a very interesting film that manages to strike hard where it counts. There’s an interesting montage when Muller is thinking of all those that warned him about his past catching up to him! Very good ending that “puts the cherry on top”, so to speak.

The Long, Long Trailer 1954
You didn’t let me finish, I was going to tell you “turn right here, left.”.
I really liked the musical number between Nicky and Tacy. The score from the start and end credits is a great sounding one that really captures the era. The wide shots of the convertible hauling the trailer along these… -

Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1992
Buffy seems like a combination of an 80s horror film + a 90s teen show like Beverly Hills 90210.

Blue Whales: Return of the Giants 2023
IMAX 3D
I watched this at work today as there was a field trip today to the California Science Center. Cool visuals but overall I didn’t find it too interesting nor entertaining. -
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World 2010
Q&A with Edgar Wright + Bryan Lee O’Malley + Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ellen Wong , moderated by The Daniels.
A fun movie that stays to true to its graphic novel origins. It’s full of likable and unlikable characters so there’s a balance there. The video game structure of there being levels to beat and even repeat was well executed. The film touches on themes of love, perseverance, self-reflection to move past mistakes, and growing up.
