I've never really been into punk rock, as I am more a metalhead, but I've dabbled a bit with Hardcore Punk as well as crossover trash, and have come away really enjoying some of the band's that I've checked out. Agnostic Front being a seminal act in the scene are a solid band of talented musicians that have pushed the scene into what it is today. Agnostic Front is a landmark act in the genre, and this film goes in depth about their rise and influence. This is a very well put together documentary on a very interesting subject, and Agnostic Front who have solidified the Hardcore scene more than deserves their own film. With great interviews with Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma, the minds behind AF we get to see a bigger picture on this great band and its influence on the scene.
I've enjoyed some Hardcore bands, and I enjoy that style of music as well, it is a genre of music that is raw, grit and to the point and you get that vibe from this band. The Godfathers of Hardcore is destined to be seen as one of the classic music documentary films that have brought an overlooked genre that deserves more praise. The film is among the more interesting music documentaries as well, mainly due to the way the subject is presented. If you're interested in the genre of music or want an insightful portrait of the band that solidified Hardcore, then you should definitely check this one out.
