    scavenger hunt 67 | Watch a movie from a college film class syllabus

    It was, i suppose, very impressive in its own time.
    Story did not age very well, with local monster appearence being almost laughable (compared to other horrors of silent cnema).

    But aesthetics make it worth watching al least once. Every character, every background, all the music reeks of madness. It was actually a little bit painful to watch in one sitting, thank god it is a 6-part story

    For some reason i can't stop to compare it with Whiplash. And even though ballet is a little bit more popular than drumming and Polina have a lot more hard decisions to make, Whiplash feels a lot better.
    Whiplash wants you to understand the beauty and hard work behind jazz drum, Polina thinks that you already understand beauty and hard work behind ballet.
