As much as I loved this film I have no idea of what emotion the director was trying to leave his audience with.
If it was WTF, astonishment or even disbelief then he's pretty much succeeded.
I'm sure there are symbolic meanings behind the film. What they are I can hardly imagine. I really need to read around this one and hopefully I will gain a better understanding.
When Denis Lavant came out of the white limo disguised as a twisted old beggar I thought 'YES' this is trippy, bring it on.
I loved Holy Motors, its proper quirky but what it's about I know not where to begin and no amount of Lysergic acid diethylamide is going to lead me to the path of enlightment.
