Well, unlike F9 this was a breeze to get through…
It does feels like 1/3 of a film, I honestly can’t believe Vin Diesel decided to announce that it was 3 parts at the red carpet premiere of the film… Still, I haven’t felt this excited about the franchise since Fast Five as it’s setting up all these pieces and getting ready to pay them all off. Loved Jason Mamoa, loved John Cena and really enjoyed the 3rd act.

Really inventive entry into the franchise. Finds a lot of interesting new ways to tell its story like making the summoning of the dead actually feel unentionally (Evil Dead 2013) or the way it freshly handles it’s gore and blood. I also found the characters and their family dynamic quite good, and we got a hell of a final girl.
Overall, like all good evil dead films it’s short sweet madness and it honestly flew by…

It was okay. The film’s getting a lot of buzz in France and I thought it was pretty impressive…
The direction is pretty alright, and I thought some of the sequences were shot neatly. It’s also funny and well edited together. Where I think it slightly falters is in the tone, especially with the ending and the fact that it’s not that great of a story…
But overall, I had a nice time.

Still absolutely hilarious, with so much to say on the problems with America. Sacha Baron Cohen is absolutely hilarious and is really one of the few comedians who doesn’t play himself. The screenplay is still one of the best the comedy genre has to offer.
Overall, there’s really nothing like it, it’s a product of its time that still works today. It takes risks and they pay off. Borat is just one of the best, in both film and character.

It was okay… I mean the action was great, the action scenes could be a bit overlong but they were very well choreographed; and the score was really good… but it’s just way too long and a lot of scenes feel kind’ve unnecessary. I did enjoy the added world-building, but it maybe felt too big, as in the first one it felt more contained and better overall, but this one is massive! Overall, while it’s miles behind the first one, it was still pretty good.

This was actually a massive surprise… I’m not a big fan of Amazon Originals, especially with how disappointed I was with Without Remorse earlier this year, but this was great. The film has a really good heart especially because of the father-daughter relationship.
