This film had an interesting premise but I think it struggles the most with balancing all the stories it's trying to tell. 1960 felt quite overstuffed and I think it should have cut some of the smaller storylines. It's also an inconsistent film, sometimes the acting is great and other times it's horrible and so on.
The King's Man felt like it was made for me personally. I love the other two Kingsman movies, but this origin story is on an entirely another level. I love revisionist history and this felt like it was in a similar realm to Inglourious Basterds and The Death of Stalin. The way iconic figures and events from World War One are weaved into The Kingsman narrative is incredibly well-done.
