Easily one of my favorites of all time. Every time I watch this, I tell myself I won't cry, but I always end up falling apart halfway through part one lol. Castelnuovo and LEGEND Deneuve's chemistry and performances feel so genuine, my heart can’t help but sing and beat and break when theirs do.

Everything about Umbrellas is truly flawless. Between the late Michel Legrand's score (his magnum opus, in my opinion), Jean Rabier's cinematography, Jacqueline Moreau's costume design, and Bernard Evein's production design, I can't decide which aspect I love more.

This film is a masterpiece in every sense of the word and I can't recommend it enough.
