Usually, I can figure out where a movie is going to take me or how it's going to end; this was not one of those times. Easily one of the best films (if not THE best) of the year, PARASITE keeps you on the edge of your seat and takes you on the craziest, most unpredictable (and for me, anxiety-ridden) ride. Bong Joon-ho effortlessly combines comedy, drama, and thriller, making you laugh one second, and shake the other. By the end, I found myself sitting in my seat, simultaneously processing what I just watched, and wanting more.
While the film in its entirety is easily a masterpiece, the second half is on its own level. Go in blind, you won't regret it. I can't wait to go back and rewatch this a hundred times.
The hype is SO REAL.
