Call Me by Your Name

Call Me by Your Name ★★★

The highlights were the musical selections and the cinematography. The performances were decent. For a supposedly educated person, Armie Hammer's character, Oliver, never uses the subjunctive. I noticed the misuse a minimum of two times.

So, anyway, more people will be concerned with the mood. I personally felt it was overhyped. However, it featured multi-national European and American characters. I didn't feel it needed to be set in the 1980s, but if the filmmaker felt that's when the story needed to be set, that's fine. No cell phones. No laptops. Just people, talking, and quiet reflection. (Yes, some characters actually read books!!)

Vegan alert:
The movie features several non-vegan foods, including a carcass of a whole chicken in the fridge.
