Leighton Trent’s review published on Letterboxd:
Ari Aster is the shiz. Every single frame pulsates with a kind of synthesis that only a director in complete control of his vision can manage.
What he did anew with shadows and darkness in the novelesque Hereditary, he does for the all encompassing sunlight of summer solstices in Midsommar. Sometimes, the terror, the gore, the truth is all hiding in plain sight and all we can do is face it in all its ugliness before watching it burn.
Florence Pugh is a god 💐💐
