Star Wars: The Last Jedi ★★★½

This movie is super flawed. But I love it so much.

The entire subplots with Poe and Finn are TRASH; they massacred Finn’s character. And the new characters are trash too.
But the main plot with Rey, Kylo Ren, and Luke are some of the best Star Wars I have ever seen. Luke’s arc of failure and redemption is amazing character development, and is a great example of the overall allegory of failure. Luke and Kylo’s fight at the end is also FANTASTIC, and it is the best way for Luke to go out. Overall, I will happily sit through the shit parts of this film just to watch Luke, Rey, and Kylo eff around.

This is also by far the best looking Star Wars film. And this is probably the Star Wars film with the worst action—the ending is spectacular but not necessarily an “action scene” in my book, the light speed maneuver is super cool but raises a few questions, and the Kylo and Rey fight scene with the guards is super entertaining personally, but it has ass choreography. The other few action scenes are alright enough not to mention.
