A slight change of pace.
I’ve always loved Lady Bird, but I absolutely adored it tonight. Everything felt just right. It’s so rare to see a coming of age film with an energy that’s so vibrant and messy, yet still carefully composed in every frame. The expression on Lady Bird’s face in the church, right before the final monologue, pushed me to finally call this one of my favorite movies. How strange it is to miss things you never knew you liked.
