AFI Fest 2018: Movie #1
Follows a clear formula, but it follows it well. There’s less to critique here as there is to call fine.
After RBG earlier this year, I feel a lot more invested in Ginsburg’s story, and this was a fun enough depiction of it. I was genuinely charmed by this, and I think that means more to me than anything else. I don’t always understand how essential it is to retell stories like this that push for a much tamer version of activism that will primarily be an echo chamber, but I don’t know if that’s a fair standard to hold this to. It made me feel good, and I hope it makes Ginsburg feel good too.
