this movie awakened a lot of feelings in 9 y/o me when it first came out. it’s been 28 years and i still get chills when i see the way roxanne looks at max when he’s on stage 🫠

this immediately became a new comfort movie
i’m not sure what that says about me
» [edit]: now that i think of it, it reminds me of this quote:
“Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable."
as someone who has been sleeping with the same teddy for the past 27 years i was pretty excited for this 🤎🧸
but also, as someone that knows blumhouse i had a feeling it would be ass and i was not wrong. and once it got to the third act it felt like it was never going to end
could have used more big, evil chauncey and less humans. blumhouse also needs to learn the meaning of quality over quantity but maybe that’s just imo 🤷♀️
this was insanely brutal and wacky and i had an ok time. i feel like a couple parts seemed to drag a bit but maybe that’s bc it’s almost 3am and i’m a lil sleepy idk. but it was definitely a lot more intense than i was expecting so A+ for that.
and i thought Art was a lot of fun to watch. i had read the guy that played him has actual mime experience and it shows, he did amazing.
i threw in an extra half star for that old school looking title card 🤌
