The first two episodes are great, the third one as a bit of a filler, and the last one is like "we get it, Maury"
The conclusion isn’t half bad, but after so much repetitiveness and names and dead end leads, it feels like a relief that it’s over.
I found this brutally depressing. For most of the film it really feels like you’re living through the dementia with Anthony and it is heart wrenching. The confusion, changing stairs, thought mazes are almost too unsettling to watch. Such a horrifying experience is surely indebted to, among other things, really good directing and editing.
I also keep thinking about Relic and in what ways they both achieve the disturbance.
