Ponniyin Selvan: Part I 2022
Mani Ratnam has successfully completed 39 years of beautiful but hollow female characters, and I really can't tell how he's done it. Ponniyin Selvan is the dullest film I caught in theatres this year. Everything is wrong here, from Rahman (both of them) to Vikram (I refer in particular to that monologue scene). Perhaps the only saving grace of this three hour snoozefest is Aishwarya Lekshmi, who I thought was prettier here than everything else she's been in.
