Freakin Sparks, man
Unbelievably ambitious, most likely to a fault personally. But I still loved that ambition, telling a story that's remarkable straightforward in such a loud, creative way. First off, Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard are both outstanding. Visually it is really striking, sharp lighting and surprising cinematography. The music is pretty killer as well, the Mael brothers and Carax seemed to have cooperated in making this at a level and in a way I haven't personally ever seen before. All this weirdness to deliver a finale that surprisingly was really effective for me emotionally. I may like this more as I think about it
