What an idyllic summer.
Nobody told me this was a comedy! Sure, it was tense almost the whole way through. It really didn't give me any time to breathe. But then again. Awkward Swedes. And that pairing was perfect. They seemed so at peace, and they were so funny. Just don't bark up the wrong tree.
Florence Pugh played this perfectly, and really was the star of the show. (Can't wait to watch her too(!) in Little Women.) I don't know what else to say. She carries the audience along the way, through heaven (a summer party!) and hell (hell).
What a turnaround this was, too. Earlier today, I watched Hereditary for preparation, and I hated it. But Midsommar was really something. Feels like my soft horror alley is getting longer and longer. And at least for a while, it will get a spot in my 50 favourites
