  gorgeous work from gosling and robbie, supported by the brilliance of the production & costume design. the script is kind of a hot mess and the priority of irony and knowingness over genuine storytelling is disappointing as we know what gerwig is capable of in that department. a lot of it doesn’t work but i haven’t stopped thinking about it since i saw it.
